Over the summer, I found myself in the center of Nova Scotia one weekend to do some errands and of course explore the amazing small towns that surround it. My stop for lunch was to The Naked Crepe. This was clearly a trendy brunch stop, with a diverse crowd of people, easily ages 19-75 were in attendance.
The kitchen can be seen from the entrance of the building. This is always a nice touch because it essentially means they have nothing to hide.
Being a busy spot, it was loud indoors so I opted in to sitting outside, this was a very smart choice. It was warm on this day but not unbearable.
My waiter was very attentive, my glass was never empty and he even took the time to refill my water bottle before I left for my next adventure. (this got him an extra tip)
For lunch, I ordered a quinoa salad to start and a Montreal steak crepe (because well… pickles..).
The salad was sweeter than I prefer but good. Mango was delish, and added some sour that I craved with this very sweet dish.
When the Montreal steak crepe arrived it was massive! The sweet crepe with the savory meat was... Interesting.. The crepe was sweet and fluffy and the meat was moist and flavorful but they really did not compliment each other, the combination in my mouth was not a favorite.
Would I go back? Yes. Would I test out a savory crepe again? On heavens no. These guys clearly have perfected their sweet crepe recipe, next time if I find myself in the area I will order something that compliments the sweet fluffy hug.
